The 2017 Workers' Compensation Lunch Seminar will be held on Monday, April 10, from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. and features opening remarks by Arbitrator William R. Gallagher. Back by popular demand are Jessica Bell and Kevin Elder leading a discussion of the Crittenden case. It will be held at Kenny's Westside Pub, 112 SW Jefferson Ave., Peoria (across the street from the IWC office) and immediately following the Peoria call. The cost is only $35 per person which includes a lunch buffet. A certificate for one hour of general MCLE credit will be given at the conclusion of the event.

Sponsors of the PCBA's Continuing Legal Education programs are provided the following:
- A table at the program for handouts, to meet and greet the attorneys or hold a business card door prize drawing.
- Sponsor’s logo/contact information is included in a pre-seminar power point presentation and also on the printed agenda.
- Sponsors are also mentioned from the podium during the program. The programs are recorded and viewers of the DVDs will then hear the sponsor’s promotion.
Attendance ranges from 70 – 120.
The Peoria County Bar Association was incorporated in 1879 and works to encourage local attorneys to become and continue as active members of the Association. The Membership Committee reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding applications from prospective members. Currently the PCBA has over 620 members who can be involved in 19 different committees. If you are interested in becoming a member of the PCBA please complete the membership application (located under Members Section at the bottom of this page) and choose below which dues level would apply to you, or submit payment to the PCBA by check. If you are a current member of the PCBA you can also pay dues online without submitting a new application.
The Young Lawyers Committee meets monthly to discuss various upcoming projects. Sponsors have 20 minutes for their presentation. If you have a power point, contact the PCBA to make arrangements for that. Sponsors may also bring handouts for the group, which is usually 25 - 30 young lawyers. The next professional responsibilty seminar, "Tried and True: Part IV", will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Spalding Pastoral Center, 419 NE Madison, Peoria, IL 61603. Registration and lunch buffet begin at 11:30 a.m. and the seminar is from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided and is included in the cost of the seminar. This seminar has been submitted for approval by the ILSCCP for two (2) hours of Professional Responsibility Credit. Early registration discount ends Friday, May 5.The deadline to register is Friday, May 12, 2017. NO REFUNDS. For attorneys within a firm; please list attendees in the "Order Comments Section" when you check out. Only $65 for PCBA members, $80 for McClean County members and $90 for all others.

Any member in good standing with the Peoria County Bar Association, who is now engaged in the active practice of law in the County of Peoria, has been so engaged in practice for at least one year, and has a law office located in Peoria or Tazewell County, may apply for registration by signing and filing, at the Association office the application form provided by the association. The Association reserves the right, by order of a majority of the members of the Committee, to reject any application for registration in the Service, or to remove, at any time, the name of any Service attorney from the Service. The executive director of the Association shall promptly notify each person whose application is accepted or rejected, or whose name is removed from the Service. If dissatisfied with the action of the Committee, any person so affected by this provision shall have the right to appeal to the Board of Directors of the Association upon written application made to the executive director within ten (10) days from the date of the Committee action complained of. To be eligible as a Service attorney, professional liability insurance in the amount of no less than $100,000. must be provided and maintained.
The registration fee is $50.00 annually payable on July 1 of each fiscal year, with unlimited panel selection.
