Young Lawyers Committee 2012 PROJECT SANTA The Young Lawyers Committee of the Peoria County Bar Association is spearheading Project Santa, a holiday gift giving program connecting the Peoria legal community with underprivileged children. Once again, the YLC has partnered with South Side Mission, a nondenominational Peoria-based charity, to match a child in need with a Holiday Sponsor. Peoria zip code 61605 is identified by the US Census Bureau as one of the 100 poorest areas of the country. Many of these families struggle to put food on the table, let alone buy Christmas presents. Project Santa reaches out to these children and makes a difference in their lives by remembering them during the Holiday season. Please help ensure these children experience the joy of Christmas by sponsoring a child! Participation can occur in one of two ways. If you wish to become a Holiday Sponsor, please cut & paste below the completed form and email to this year's Co-Chairs.

Registration in advance is encouraged: The tentative pricing for the upcoming 2013 race is as follows: $25.00 before race day; $30.00 day of race and $60.00 for Family (4 participants). Race day registration and packet pick-up begins at 7:00 a.m. in Tower Park. The Race begins at 8:00 a.m. The 2011 and 2012 post-race party was hosted by Oliver’s Pizza & Pub in Peoria Heights. More information on the 2013 event will be posted here as it becomes available. Strides for Justice intends to raise awareness about the importance of affordable legal representation to the underserved in Central Illinois and the services offered by Prairie State Legal Services. Throughout its history, Prairie State has focused on providing legal services to the most vulnerable groups in our society, the poor, the elderly, the physically and mentally disabled, as well as other people in need. Prairie State Legal Services is the only dedicated provider of pro bono representation in the Peoria area. All proceeds from the Race benefit Prairie State Legal Services.
